A blessing, of sorts.
Last night, 6 PM, corner of 34th and Sansom: I was balancing on one foot by some newspaper boxes, changing out of my 1994-era olive-green Converse into black Camper mary janes. (I was meeting Patrick for our anniversary dinner at the White Dog, and had worn the sneakers for my walk over from work.)
A probably-homeless man crossed the street towards me and stopped. "You're looking very nice today," he said.
"Thank you," I said.
He looked down at the sneaker I had just slipped off my foot.
"Those shoes should be burned as a sacrifice to the gods," he said.
I smiled and finished changing my shoes. He walked on up the block.

Good thing I'm not drinking a soda, 'cause it'd be coming out my nose.
Oh my god. This is the most cover-your-mouth-so-you-don't-BWAH-HAH-HAH-out-loud-at-work, deliciously mean, hiLARious site I've read in a loooong while.
Swallow anything you may be eating or drinking, and go there now.
